Reviewing fitness apps for anyone feeling a little lost
Fitness apps are all over the place
There are so many fitness apps out there it’s hard to know where to start. I put together a list of a few that I have used and enjoyed in the past. These are sure to be helpful if you are starting out, want variety or need a few extra challenges. These are fitness apps for women and fitness apps for men.
Most of these fitness apps are free to start!
Nike Training Club
The Nike Training Club app is great for someone who wants some variety at home. Users can chose workout by body part, current goals or time. There is even stretching and yoga.
Nike will keep track of your workouts and users can mark their favorites for easy access in the future.
This fitness app is great if you like Nike Gear
If you enjoy Nike gear, this has another perk! You will get discounts and free shipping when you are a member.
Become a premium member for $14.99 monthly or $119.99 annually or just use the free version.
Fitbit
This app is interesting because you would only have it if you have a fitbit device. You have to download it in order to set up your device and get the information.
The app is so much more than data storage. Premium subscriptions allow you to have access to a large catalog of exercises ranging from yoga to high intensity workouts. They even have some Les Mills workouts!
With your subscription you get wellness reports, video workouts, mindfulness sessions, fun games and challenges and recipe inspiration.
When you purchase now, fitbit will give you a free 6 month subscription. Fitbit premium cost is $9.99 per month or $80 for the year.
Les Mills Plus
Les Mills Plus is a great tool if you are wanting to workout with a group feel at home. This app has all 21 programs of Les Mills (even Body Combat!) so you can try out some your club may offer.
Les Mills charges fitness clubs by the number of programs they support and it is expensive. For this reason, most clubs only has about 3-4 Les Mills classes.
The Les Mills app allows you to experiment with different formats to keep your workouts fresh. Even some of the program directors have their own material on there that is not offered in clubs.
Les Mills on demand usually has a lower introductory cost but will run about $119.88 per year.
Sweat: Fitness App for Women
I found this app on my newsfeed on Instagram one day. Sweat is run by Kayla Itsines and it is incredibly organized. Users can use an at home program or at the gym.
This seems to be mostly a fitness app for women, but men can use it too!
The workouts I tried will run you through a warm up, workout and finisher. There is video of the exercise being done and you can sync up your phone so that you will hear when the timers go off.
It takes the thinking out for the user so they can just concentrate on the exercise. There are so many programs to chose from workouts probably wouldn’t get stale. The workouts vary in length for the convenience of the user.
Users can get a free trial and after that it costs $19.99 per month.
Sworkit
This app was popular with my husband. Sworkit is another fitness app where you can choose what kind of workout you would like to do and there are several options. There are even kids workouts!
When you initially download, they will ask you about your goals and and couple other things to pair you with a workout. Then you can check out all the options they have.
There is a workout of the day and challenges that are ongoing. Sworkit even has pregnancy and post pregnancy workouts.
The app is free, but some content is only if you have the subscription service. Cost is $9.99 monthly or $59.99 annually.
12 Minute Athlete
If this isn’t for someone who doesn’t have much time, I don’t know what is. This app will give you a 12 minute workout when you have 12 minutes.
When you pick your workout time (12 minutes, 16 minutes) you will then select the equipment you would like to use. The app will then make you a 12 minute HIIT inspired workout based on the equipment you select.
There is a timer that will let you know when you need to stop and start again. Basically, it’s like having a trainer give you a workout with a stop watch. This is also beneficial if you have minimal equipment at home. You also get a timer with the app.
To unlock more features, you have to become a Super Athlete and pay $9.99 monthly or $99.99 annually.
Evidation
Evidation is more to get paid for working out. I have had this app for about a year and have made $20! Members sync fitbits, apple health, or any other health tracker and get points.
Fitness apps that earn money are the best!
Once your points get high enough, you can trade them in for money. They even post stories for users to read and get points regularly.
If you join using my code, you’ll get bonus points and be even closer to that reward!
Fitness apps for all!
Hopefully, this helped you narrow down a few fitness apps for you to try out. Remember, this can be something you try to see if you like it. Most of these are commitment free in the beginning! Remember, there are so many benefits to exercise.
